Solar

We are hoping to expand our solar array to generate more power for the grid and ourselves. A full assessment is under way, and possible suppliers being consulted. Once formulated we will search out grants and the proposal will                                                 be discussed at Church Council

Green Faith Group (GFG)

The next meeting will be on Friday 24 April 2026 at 2 pm. For details go to the GFG tab under Eco Church above.  We continue our in depth study of "Come, have Breakfast" by Elizabeth A Johnson, covering Chapters 26 and 27. If you have not got a copy of the book, don't worry! It is an inclusive get together where we discuss many aspects of faith, just using the book as a core element. All are very welcome.

Thank you to the contributors of the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch!

Submission made and it is an improvement on last year. More to follow when we get the overall results, but if you are passing through the garden, please consider feeding the birds. All the gear is there - you only need to do it! Thanks.

The re-development of the Schoolroom garden will be the focus of our garden work for 2026. We have been given a grant of £1,000 from the Town Council towards the development of this "Community Garden" for which we are most grateful. The "Repurposing" sale on 31 January 2026 raised in excess of £500 for this cause. Work has started on a permanent home and focus for the share table, and space cleared for raised beds with a mix of produce and flowers, a small and safe water feature, a "wild" area, and a seating area for the quiet enjoyment of a peaceful space. The fruitful trees already in place have been trimmed and will be further shaped. If you are interested in assisting with the project or maintaining any part of our gardens please let us know through the Contact Form. Thank you.

On 28 July 2025  we were visited by A Rocha to assess our Gold Award submission. It was the culmination of much hard work going back 15 years. It is the start of another period of sustained effort to maintain high eco-standards and church and community engagement. Please ask any of the eco-Team any questions you might have, whether about the award or our church ethos.

Congratulations on the Gold Award!

The Four aims of Methodists

Methodism's activities, both alone and with ecumenical and secular partners, are based on four aims known as Our Calling:

· To increase awareness of God's presence and to celebrate God's love
·
To help people to grow and learn as Christians through mutual support and care
·
To be a good neighbour to people in need and to challenge injustice
·
To make more followers of Jesus Christ.

"Property plays a significant role in enabling a presence within communities. A Methodist building that is welcoming, eye-catching and that acts as a focal point for community engagement can speak powerfully of God’s love.  Utilising a property either by redeveloping it for social purpose or incorporating a range of social uses into an existing building is as much a part of a mission plan as preaching, worship or community evangelism."
